  • Biography

    Born in Hungary in 1926, Anna Noëh studied at the Academy of Applied Arts in Budapest from 1952 to 1956. Thereafter, she received a scholarship from the Rockefeller Foundation which allowed her to attend the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.

    She settles in Montreal in 1957. Highly interested in Inuit culture and the Canadian Arctic, she visits the Northern Canada several times drawings sketch and paintings from the everyday life of the population from the region. Her works will be exhibited in Montreal in the 1970. She represents with accuracy (rightness) and perfection the Inuit culture so that we can qualify her works as anthropological art pieces.

    She is a part of many private and public collections. She has also been exhibit at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Quebec, and Musée d’Art de Joliette. Source
